My Mercruiser Alpha 1 developed an oil leak and completely destroyed the gears in the upper unit. The estimate to repair the upper unit was over $2000 and that still didn't address the underlying problem with the oil leak.
I talked to a well known and respected marine dealer/repair shop and told them the story of what had happened. They suggested SEI so I went straight to their website. When I saw that I could order a complete upper and lower unit for less than I could get my old one repaired, and get the best warranty in the business, I placed my order. I also spoke with their staff on the phone and they were polite with informative information.
It arrived within a few days and was easy to replace using the online directions.
My SE116 got me back on the water and it works like a champ! I have had no problems and I'm a completely satisfied customer.
