  • Dol-Fins & Prop Pitch

I am new to power boats. I just bought a 1975 Formula F20 Thunderbird for running around on. Boat has a 188 HP Ford 302 (Model 888?) with a Mercruiser I/O. 285 hours! :) Questions:
The left corner of the horizontal casting on the lower unit is broken to the edge of the Zinc tab. Someone suggest adding planing fins (i.e. Dol Fins) but don't think there is enough metal in that corner to drill holes for mounting the fins. Any suggestions?
Can anyone tell me what diameter and pitch prop I have? Have yet to find any info on the prop.
    Thanks.

The picture did not show up, but if the cavitation plate is broken off, then you should be able to have a piece of aluminum welded back on by a prop shop.

We talked on the phone about the prop already, so maybe someone else has some ideas if you can't get the info from Formula.
