The SE216 Installation Guide states that "Water proof grease" and "High temp grease" are to be applied at various locations (splines, etc.). Mercury manuals specify "2-4-C Marine Lubricant with Teflon" for use in the same areas that you specify for "High temp grease", but I consider "2-4-C" to be a water proof grease.

Please clarify what type/brand of grease you are referring to in the installation guide. Tnx

2-4-C is the type of grease the guide refers to.

      Grease

Thanks for fast response. Understand "2-4-C" is the type of grease referred to in the guide, but does that mean that the "Waterproof grease" and the "High temperature grease" referred to in the installation guide are one and the same, or two different types?

24C is a high pressure grease as well as waterproof so that will be sufficent for the installation. If you can't find 24C, then any grease is better than no grease when installing the lower unit.
