  • Replacement for 72 165hp mercruiser outdrive ?

    Hi
The SE 106 is listed as being a replacement drive from 1973 on out. I understand that the input shaft / yoke is shorter for the 140/165 application, but since I am doing an engine swap also, I think I can live with the longer shaft and move the replacement engine a little forward (I'm intending to use a Honda Vtec V6 engine, so its a non standard instalation)

Is there any reason why I could not use the SE106 in my application ?

    Thanks
    Keith

We do offer the upper units with the shorter shaft as well.

As far as using the honda engine, I'm sure you've researched it, but make sure that you properly marinize the engine to avoid any explosions.

All the drive needs is something to drive it. The V6 should be fine properly set up.
