  • Can't get sterndrive in the last inch

Any tips on getting the drive in the last 1 to 1.5 inches? Checked the alignment and it is fine. Made sure the shift shaft is forward and the intermediate shaft is lined up with the cable and the cable is engaged with the intermediate shaft and properly in the housing.
CAn't turn the prop so i believe the splines have begun to engage. I'm afraid to give it a kick as was mentioned in a previous post. Is that the answer?

Most likely you are just trying to get the o-rings into the gimble bearing and that is what is making it not slide on. You could remove the o-rings and try it to see if that is the case. If so, then put the o-rings back on and then you just need to apply more force to get it to pop in.

    Thanks,
