I have an "Alpha I". I do not know if it is a Gen I or Gen II. The numbers are "B443897" and "F" off the port side of the upper unit. I have a 17 spline shaft to the engine, 15 spline to the prop. What do I have??

It is a 1990 - 5.7 Mercruiser. The boat was produced late in the year, if it makes a difference.Comment

It should be a Gen I, but an easy way to tell is if your water pump housing is plastic it is a Gen I, if it is metal then it is a Gen II.
