I replaced my Mercruiser Alpha I last August. I was concerned about taking on the chore, but I did it with help from the tech team at SEI. I finally got to testing it in the water this year, it runs great and shifts well. At first it sounded different, but then settled down and it purrs smooth I'm glad I purchased it and didnt try to rebuild my old unit. I definately would recommend it to anyone who needs a Merc replacement
