Does anyone know the specs to machine a mercruiser alignment tool when you have a aftermarket engine coupler?

I don't have the specs for the alignment tool but it should be the same for your aftermarket coupler since it goes off the splines.

I have the alignment tool, there is some machining that has to be done to the tool because where the tool slides into the splines it doesnt go all the way in. Since it wont go all the way in it doesnt fit in the gimbal bearing like it should.Comment

Is you engine in or out of the boat? If it is in did you try the alignment tool in the coupler before installation to see if it went in? I have seen some alignment tools with excessive coatings making them larger in some areas preventing them from fully sliding in the splines or gimbal bearing.
