Another question about the gear ratio. I have a sea ray sundancer 260 hp V8. We think our boot is from 1986. Our boot is imported to the netherlands so the exact year we do not know. We have 20-16 teeth in the upper gearset. Whe think that this is not the original gearset. We want to replace the sterndrive. Can you help us bij telling us the gear ratio we must order.

    Thanks,

    Michel from the netherlands

Your boat has a 1.32 to 1 gear ratio. I would recommend using the 1.32 ratio, especially if the boat is pretty heavy. Unfortunately we do not make the 1.32 ratio gears.

You could use a 1.5 ratio, but the life may be reduced.
