  • Gimbal Bearing Failure Insurance

Had impact to lower unit not much prop damage but struck a mess of debris in water resulting in an explosion of gimbal bearing bell housing ujoint possible drive and prop shaft anyone help with technical reasoning for insurance to cover other than wear and tear as they are claiming, although the gimbal bearing was replaced two years ago and boat stays on lift. Alpha one outdrive 1987 merc 260 hp
Bottom line, tech help to support a claim for my side

Sorry, but if you hit a submerged object and damaged your prop shaft and other components it will not be considered normal wear and tear. If it is one of our drives purchased between 09/18/06 and the present our fault free warranty would cover the damage to the drive.
