I have a 1990 3.7 litre merc with an alpha 1 how do I know if I need the counter rotation drive or not? and what ratio?

The ratio will be a 1.81 and if it is a single engine boat it will be standard rotation. If it has twin engines, then look to see if the props both have the same orientation. If they do not, then the port side is counter rotation.
