  • Synthetic Lube in SE106?

I have just purchased a complete SE106 for my '86 Wellcraft w/5.7L Marine Power engine, but I have not received it yet. I intend to do the entire break-in process in 1 weekend, so I want to change the outdrive gear lube immediately after that. Amsoil makes a synthetic Marine Gear Lube in grade SAE 75W/80W-90 that I would like to use if approved by SEI. Is that okay? Also, what is the total volume of lube required for the complete sterndrive? Thanks for your help!

The synthetic lube will be fine. Filling from the bottom until it comes out of the top vent will take approximately 32 fluid oz.
