Hot Top Cap

I just finished installing my SE116. I thought I would try it out in the driveway (water hooked up). I ran the drive in forward and reverse for less than 5 minutes and everything sounded OK. When I was taking the water hose off I noticed the top cap on the drive was very warm. None of the surrounding area was warm, only the top cap. Is this normal?

The top cap will get warm when the drive is run.
