  • replace lower unit

I have a 30' Sea Ray Sun dancer, need to replace the port (counter rotation?) lower unit. It is a 1995 with 5.7 carburated engines. How do I know what gear ratio I need. Am I correct that the port is counter rotation?

If you look on the upper units on the port side where the sticker is, you should see the ratio stamped there.

The port side is often Counter Rotation, but not always. The easiest way to check is to see if the props look the same or if they are different. If they are different then it is for sure a counter rotation unit.

    Thanks,
