Just purchased a your lower unit for my225 Optimax. I am in the break in first 5 hour period. I am running about 10 lb pressure at 4500 rpms with almost no trim. Seams like it should be higher.Should I have a low water pick up unit? My original lower unit did not have low water pick up. What is your guess Thanks

Did you have higher pressure with the old unit? Do you have a Temp gauge?

My best guess would be that the water pump is getting some exhaust gases sucked into it. You should check to make sure the seal is on top of the water pump and that the water pump is tight.

I think it would be possible. It is worth checking. You can find a guide on our website for removing and replacing the drive if you want to tackle it yourself.
