  • remote oil resv. passage

Just rec complete outdrive, assembled and mounted as inst. then remember
some comment about the oil passage. Want to clarify before I fire this engine and cook the drive.

Old unit is a alpha one gen 2

    purchased se 116

if I am reading manuals correctly, the oil passage is in between the top
2 right mountine bolts on the gimbal housing????

Previous owner has filled the housing side with what seems to be silicon.

Should have ask before mounting drive but here goes, is it okay for it to
remain plugged since I do not have remote resv.?????

thanks for any assist or enlightenment, learning way to much about
this boat, should be on topside not the bottom

There is another oil passage between the two halves. There is an o-ring already glued to the lower for that.

As far as the passage you are talking about, that is fine to have it plugged off with silicone. The new drive should have had a valve in the upper anyway, so it wouldn't need the silicone, but it won't hurt anything since you do not have the oil reservoir.
