SEI Saved me Time and Money
Bought a used 1984 sea sprite cuddy merc 228 in july 2015.
Did all my regular maintenance on the entire boat.
Took the boat out for a few test runs, worked fine.
Decided to take the family out to the Chicago Air & Water show.
Half way there my outdrive blew.
Stuck out on Lake Michigan for hrs, before i was able to get a tow, nightmare.
Called around to a bunch a marinas, boat mechanics and was only able to get a straight answer from two.
The cost of re building my Alpha one Gen 1 was around $2,500 - $3,500 , and no deadline on when they could get it done. Plus will they just replace bad gears? or rebuild everything new? They could tell me everything was new inside, but how would i know?
I thought ok, won't be able to boat anymore this year. But after doing some googling i found SEI.
I ordered a complete Alpha one Gen 1 outdrive and install kit for under $1,400 WOW.
Got it shipped within a week, and installed it in one day. It was an easy install process. BOLT & GO !
I have used my boat about 5 times now and no problems at all. It was the smartest choice.
I also got a no questions asked warrenty for 3 years with the out drive, couldn't be happier.
