I have fairly good mechanical skills. Sometimes even on things l have never worked on. Never tried an outdrive but needed to get it done. The SEI unit was so easy to assemble and install. Reading the directions makes it seem much harder than it really is. Really a two hour job. use you-tube. Bought the favored shifter and installed it too. It is by far the best combo I could have imagined. Almost a year in. I fish all winter, it's been flawless. The piece of mind is well worth it. The guy I bought the boat from had work done on just the upper half of the old outdrive and spent more than I did on the whole new outdrive setup. Then with the old OMC outdrive, that still worked, sold it for 500 for parts.
