  • outdrive flush kit

Is there any benefit to flushing the outdrive after every use with fresh water when the drive is left in the salt water? If so, what method do you recommend to flush the outdrive when left in water? I have an se116 outdrive attached to mercruiser 4.3l

I'm thinking of installing the perko flush pro which blocks the water flow going into the engine from the outdrive when
the engine is running. Will the back pressure damage my se116 outdrive and/or impeller? Boat will be in the water!!

It appears from looking at the flush pro that you would get a mix of fresh and salt water going to your engine. To flush your engine you would be better off removing the water hose from the drive to the engine and allowing it to pump overboard. You can fashion a hook up from a garden hose to the motor to flush it after you start the engine.
