  • oil reserve on 116 cobra conversion

I am getting an omc cobra conversion housing and a se116 complete drive unit from you. I understand that the conversion bell housing does not have an access hole for the stock mercruiser oil reservior passage, nor do i want to convert it to a stock oil system.

My question is this, i cannot currently find an aftermarket reservior kit in stock anywhere and want to make sure that the seals in the unit are capable of the presure built by running the unit sealed, I will be running a drive shower and its not a high horsepower engine, however it is a heavy boat and i want to minimize problems since i am doing the conversion after my cobra spit all its oil into the bellows and burned up.

    thanks,

    nick

To be totally correct, our kit does allow for the valve and nipple to be installed in the bell housing, we just do not use that option.

The SE116 drive is designed to be a sealed system therefore it can handle the normal pressure levels it will see in use.
