    Lightbulb what ratio should I order?

    hello there Im gettin ready to order my new outdrive I dont know what outdrive used to be in the boat becasuse I bought the boat without outdrive and engine, the boat is a 1994 the engine is a mercruiser 5.0 what is the correct ratio for the outdrive and in the future if I want to upgrade to a 5.7 the outdrive can be the same? thanks.

    If it is a 5.0 with a 4 barrel carb, then it would be a 1.47 ratio wich will work good with a 5.7 also. If it is a 2 barrel carb, then it will be a 1.62. A 1.62 will still work with a 5.7 but will not last as long.
