  • Change of Impeller

    Hi
I bought an impeller for my stern drive and when I removed the old one I found out that the inside of the old impeller is made of brass while the new one is made of fiber or looks like fiber.

The sale person from where I bought the impeller told me that they are the same and that it is a new version that it is used for outboards too and that I can use it on my alpha one stern drive.

Do some one knows if these are the same and if I can used them on the alpha stern drive?

old ones were brass but now some have changed to a plastic type material.
perfectly ok to use it. guess "Made in America" dosent apply anymore.

          original parts

you would be hard pressed to find "American Made" parts in mercruiser. Tin items are stamped out in mexico, engines cast in mexico. thermostats from Israel, indicator lights, etc, etc, etc. We are a third world county and sliding fast.We used to make a good product ,now we import.don`t care where it comes from , just make it cheaper but still charge the same price as if it was made here.
