  • SE116 drive shaft boot

I can't find any details on replacing the drive shaft boot on the Gen II . Is there a special tool required ? I know aspreader is required on the exhaust bellows , but the drive shaft boot has aluminum inserts. Is it neccesary to remove the Gimball housing ? Thanks in advance for any info .

You have to remove the hinge pins to allow the bellhousing to mOve away from the rest of the gimbal assembly. That will allow enough room to change the bellows. Technical there is a special tool to reinstall the bellow retainer sleeve, however if you are careful you can do it without the tool.

      SE 116 Drive shaft bellows

Thanks for the respose I have the drive apart and the old bellows out . There is one thing I am not clear on , The manual says to use bellows adhesive on the "front" of the bellows (closest to the transom) but doesn't mention using adhesive on the back (where the aluminum retainer is) . Do I use adhesive here or not ?

Yes, I would use some there also.
