I purchased a lower unit for my SeaRay 200. It has a Mercruiser with an Alpha I, Gen 2.
Before I selected SEI received two quotes to repair/replace my lower unit. I was given one quote of "anywhere from 600 to 1000 dollars" to rebuild my lower unit (using my existing parts and a salvage case). A second quote was nearly 1200 for a rebuilt unit. Neither quote gave any type of warranty.
My purchase from SEI was very fast and just as I ordered. I completed the install of my lower unit. I followed the instructions and my shop manual and the install went fine. No problems.
I have run my boat with the muffs just to check for operation and make certain there is no apparent problems. Everything is operating ok and I look forward to getting my boat on the water in the next day or so.
So far I am very pleased with my experience and my purchase with SEI. SEI has delivered exactly what they advertise and some things such as packaging and shipping exceeded what I had expected.
