A couple of years ago I rebuilt my Alpha Gen 1 upper and I bought a rebuild kit from a after market company in the New Orleans area and the kit uses double lip seals which seems to be a better seal than the Single lip OEM seals which only keeps oil in. If the bellows leaks with the double then the outdrive is protected because it keeps water from coming in and oil from going out. Anybody know if there are any problems using this type of seal? So far I have not had any problems with it.
My lower housing cracked a couple of weeks ago and I bought the SE106 and it was an easy cost effective fix and no problems mounting to my existing Alpha upper.
