I would like to know where to find the information to see if the sei 106 is a replacement for my drive .

If you look here: http://www.sterndrive.cc/pdfs/SE106applicationguide.pdf and reference the 888 in the chart, you will see that the SE106, while csometically a little different, will work just fine.
