  • Are these missing or not applicable?

Good morning, We were getting ready to install my new SE 106 complete upper and lower units today and my mechanic noticed 2 things. 1. He asked if the "shift shaft bushing in upper gear housing" is not there... is this new or missing? 2. "O ring and groove on main shaft missing." On the old unit, it was an O ring and groove to prevent water getting into the splines. We are wondering if that is a change in design or???

thanks in advance for your help and have a good day

We do not use the bushings, so don't worry about that.

As far as the o- ring groove, the OE eliminated that more than a decade ago. It was a weak spot in the shaft, and there is already a seal in the upper to keep the water.
