91 Yamaha (YEMS) Shift Problem

I'm brand new here. I hope this is not a redundant question. I have a '91 Yamaha 4.3 v6 sterndrive that just developed shift trouble. Parts seem to me non-existant. Is it possible to convert to a different outdrive? Any advice on my best options would be appreciated. I feel like the engine has some life left. The boat is definately worth holding on to. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

That animal sure seems to be a rare beast. Try this site, they have a Yamaha catalog that's not up yet and I'm not even sure if it's only outboard. You could probably try contacting them and see what they have.
