  • so many concerns?

    Hi
What makes the 106 wine like crocidle dundee swinging rope overhead?

What makes the top of drive sound like a jack hammer? Replaced all of what I have read and heard (gimbal bearing, u joint, coupler bearing, drive shaft) Suggestions. Thank you.

In My Experience The Whining Starts To Go Away After About 10 Hours Use And Seems To Be Caused By The Gears Not Being Lapped In Prior To Assembly. If You Were To Look At The Gears Before The Drive Had Any Running Time On It You Would See That There Are Quite Deep Machining Marks In Them And Thats What Makes All The Noise. It Is Also Why It's Important To Change The Oil After 10 Hours Running Or Less As Its Those Machining Marks In The Gear Teeth That Shed Minute Flakes Of Metal In The First Few Hours Of Running In. The Advantage In Not Lapping The Gears Before Assembly Is That The Gears Effectivly Lapp Themselves In As The Drive Wears In, If You Like And Ultimatly You End Up With A Perfectly Matched Set Of Gears, The Down Side Is They Are Noisey Untill They Are Fully Matched , Or Worn In.

As previously stated, the whining will quiet down during break in. If you have a hammering noise you can contact our warranty department to arrange to send it in and have it looked at. Call 727-461-0811 between 8AM and 5PM Eastern time.
