I just installed a complete 106 drive. It was fine when I first assembled and mounted the drive on the boat. It shifted into gear right when it should before the throttle advanced. That is before I filled with fluid and tested with the boat running. Now when you put it in forward it kills the boat. When you put it into reverse it will continue to run and go into reverse, but farther into the throttle than it should. I expect it is a cable adjustment on the reverse problem(describe how to adjust it please), but why is it dying going into forward. It is just like shutting off the motor. When you are fast idling the motor warming up and out of gear it advances just fine. I was happy when it ran and pumped water properly, but this is a attitude killer.
