Hello, I just purchased a new SE106 and during install I found the old o-ring from the OEM lower unit up in the shaft area for the upper half. When I removed it with my finger another black plastic peice that looks like a cover to a seal came with it. My question is, Is there a seal that goes in the with the drive shaft or do I have a seal problem with the upper half.

The oring you found from your old lower is no longer used. I'm not sure if the other piece is a part of the seal from the upper. If possible, take a picture and email it to kevin@sterndrive.cc
