  • Prop won't Spin

I am new to boat ownership, but I do have the service tech manual for my outdrive (SE 106). I took it out for the second time for the season and after about 30 mins of cruising i lost all propulsion from the prop. It just won't spin. When i push the throttle forward i could move the prop counter clockwise and watch the gears spin in the the upper part of the ourdrive, so it can engage the prop. When its in neutral it spins freely. something tells me its the engine coupler, or the dog clutch but i could be wrong. can someone point me in the right direction. I've tried to remove the outdrive as it is fairly new, and could be under warranty but i cannot locate any serial numbers. But now the outdrive it stuck half way off and won't seem to budge any more. help please!

    Thanks
    ~Steve

It does sound like the engine coupler.

To get the drive off, you need to put the shifter (Remote Control) into forward gear.

The serial numbers are located in between the halves, so you will have to seperate the drive.
