    sent the drive back to the factory last fall you worked on it under warranty put it on this summer sounded great,as summer has gone on the drive has become louder with a whine or growl.Inoticed the cap on top is turning white and the gasket under it seems to be pushing out a bit.About 10 hours on drive. Comments?

    The top cap turning white is a result of water evaporating and leaving behind residue. If you do extended runs on plane you would benefit from adding a drive shower to cool the top. The noise you describe could be either the drive or your gimbal bearing. You can remove the top cap from the upper and inspect the gears for any sign of unusual wear. You can then make sure the o-ring is not damaged in the top cap.
