  • SE 106 water ingress

I purchase the SE106 last spring and ran it throughout the summer. When I drained the lower unit oil about 1 cup of water come out first. On the old unit there was a groove and an "o" ring on the verticle drive shaft below the splines that the new one did not have, I asked the question if it was need and the reply was no. Do you have any suggestions where the lake water could be entering? Is there a way of determining where the leak could be?

The only way to determine where the leak is at is to pressure check the drive. While under appr. 15 PSI you can spray soapy water on seal areas and look for bubbles.
