gasket between upper and lower?

Call me dense but I don't see a reference to any gasket between upper and lower in the install instructions. Is there a gasket here and where is it? (just opening boxes, and do not see one; bought complete with complete install kit.)

It`s a very small O ring, black or orange and fits in a small recess in the lower unit
3/8 dia. flat style

Step 2.2 of the SE106 install guide is referring to the quad ring which is the only gasket of any sort between the two halves.

funny i thought the same thing when i was putting mine together but i just followed the destructions.

Instructions were so easy I thought I'd better triple check (smile). Along the lines of measure three times and cut once. I do think if they ever revise the manual, a little bit higher resolution photos in the pdf could be a plus now that most have broadband.
