SE 106 Shifting is backwards

I have a new SE 106 drive and when the shop installed it they said the shifting is backwards . They said in order to correct this they need to take the top end of the drive apart and change somthing inside. They called it clocking it. Is this correct?

I am guessing that when you put the halves together, you did not get the brass lever adjusted correctly so the mechanic needs to seperate the upper from the lower and re-clock it to be correct.
