Ok when mating the upper unit to the lower unit is there any need to use a sealant?
There was a small gap between the two at the very aft portion. About the last 3-4 inches.
Not large just the thickness of a piece of paper. Enough to see light thru it.
Also are all the O-rings in the gasket kit used? Or does it depend on your installation?

No sealant between the halves. The only "seal" between the halves is the oring for the oil passage. The gap at the aft end is fine. You can use all the o-rings, but the one near the splines on the ujoint shaft will not serve any purpose unless you have a greasable coupler.
