I purchased an SEI outdirve after running aground af few weeks ago. I sent my SS prop to the prop shop while my boat mechanic installed the outdrive. The prop was still in the shop when the outdrive was ready, so I borrowed a prop from a friend for the interim.
When I put the boat in the water, I found that the outdrive/prop would barely push the boat through the water. I tried to adhere to the SEI break-in procedures but something was terribly wrong, so I ran the RPMs up to 4K. At 4K the boat would not plane. Bummer!!!
The next day, I picked up my repaired original 19" SS prop and Walah! The boat performed like a champ! I planed out at a respectable 2,600 rpm.
The new 1.65 SEI outdrive has restored youth to my 1997 Chaparral Sunesta 233 5.7 liter deckboat.
The outdirve is efficient, quiet, and good lookingl. Thank you, SEI for providing a quality outdrive at an affordable price.
Count me a s a satisfied customer.
