  • Installing the two casings

    Hello,

I have two questions as I have just installed my complete drive that I bought last year, SE116.

As I did not notice that there was not a bolt in your bottom casing (front) to put the two halves together and I cannot get the stud out of my existing 1994 case, could you tell me what size the bolt is, thread and length, that I would need to go into your bottom casing to complete the bolting together.

I have not installed the gear oil but wondered if the synthetic blend being offered by Mercury, Sierra and others is recommended for your drive instead of the normal Hi performance blend Mercury recommends?

    Thanks for any info.

The newer style bolt is a 7/16"-14 x 1 3/4" stainless bolt. If you purchase one without the built in washer also get a stainless flat washer for it. We recommend using Mercury high performance gear lube in our drives.
