  • water at upper rear cover

just hooked muffs to newly installed complete unit,
torque all bolts to spec during install, but did not check
specs on bolts nuts already on unit,

pulled top cover to check oil, looks like just air in oil not milky

the water seemed to stream at the back of the cover and then
down the back corners of the upper drive. Never seen water come out
    there before. whats the possiblities?????

engine only in nuetral ran about 15 to 20 before I noticed water and
    shut engine and water

there seemed to be excess black silicon on back inside of top cover...

    thanks bob

There is a water cavity at the back of the upper case. It is plugged at the top with the rubber plug. If it is only leaking a little bit, it should not be a problem. If you think it is leaking alot, you can try to seal it up better with silicone. The water cannot make it into the oil because of the o-ring.

      Great Support

Thanks, applied thin layer to cover around water plug, attached cover
and let set for 24+hrs. Just tested no more leaks from cover. Tested
drive with muffins, she sounds smooth, no troubles. Guess where the boat
      goes tomorrow!!!!

Thanks for the quick help on both my post, will let ya know how the break
      in goes....bob
